Latvian Entrepreneurs Business Opportunities in USA and UK

The Latvian British Chamber of Commerce in the UK (LBCC) and the Latvian Chamber of Commerce in the Americas (LatCham) signed an International Cooperation Memorandum in August 2012, that is without term limits.  The Memorandum takes effect in September of 2012.

The objective of the Chambers is to promote the their respective and mutual business interests and to develop appropriate international business opportunities - in particular in sectors such as Information Technology, innovation, fashion & textiles, international investment and tourism.

They plan to work together to create successful international business cooperation opportunities, and projects; between Latvian, American and British entrepreneurs in the targeted industry segments. With the signing of the MoU, the two Chambers of Commerce agree to work together to undertake a more effective approach to help businesses implement their goals. The Chamber of Commerce also undertake to organize and support conferences and events, where people have the opportunity to learn about industry trends, gather insights and necessary business information, and to have the opportunity to establish new business contacts.

Marcis Liors Skadmanis, Latvian British Chamber of Commerce Executive Director reported, "One of the most recent successful cooperative efforts between the chambers included the recently completed - BT1 Baltic and Nordic Fashion and Textile Forum 2012 in Riga, organized by LBCC.  This included participation as a guest speaker, by Gustav Plato, LatCham Founder and Chairman of the Board, as well as being the CEO and founder of the U.S. based company iiGrowth LLC. The Forum also established fruitful cooperation with the Latvian fashion designer David and British accessories designer Claudine London, who expressed her interests towards the United States as well as Baltic markets.”

The Chambers’ near term plans include developing programs focused on IT innovation, tourism and fashion and textile industries.
